| Parking Your Cars, Motor-Cycles and Bicycles on Campus Students using motor vehicles on the University campuses must have their own insurance cover. There is limited parking on some sites and students must check locally for the regulations relating to parking. All student vehicles are parked at owner's risk. For those applying for University Halls of Residence there is a space on the application form where you may indicate whether you require parking space but there is no guarantee that this will be available. All other students must make such local arrangements as they can. Insurance (including insurance for Cars, Motor-Cycles and Bicycles) Students should insure their own property against theft or accidental damage as the University's policies do not cover them. The University provides third party cover which means that students and visitors who suffer as a consequence of the negligence of the University and its employees have recourse to a settlement via a legal claim against the University. This cover extends to field trips and industrial/study visits. University personal accident and travel insurance covers students only while they are engaged on field trips. Students should note that only duly registered students of the University of Greenwich are covered by this arrangement. All students using motor vehicles must have the minimum required insurance cover and are solely liable in this respect. Students using any motor vehicles on the University campuses must have their own insurance cover. There is limited parking on some sites and students must check locally for the regulations relating to parking. All student vehicles are parked at owner's risk. Enquiries relating to insurance matters should be made to the University Insurance Officer who is based at Avery Hill Campus on Ext. 8846 Parking for students who have a disability All campuses have some disabled parking bays. Commonly, all students who wish to park their vehicles in University parking spaces or on University property must apply for parking permit (see below). Often, students who are disabled will have a 'disabled student sticker' and this should be displayed in addition to the University of Greenwich student parking permit. If you are a student who has a disability but do not have a 'disabled student sticker' please contact the following people on the appropriate campus and they will advise you on how to proceed x | ||||||

Avery Hill Mansion Site/ Southwood Site If students wish to park their vehicle, they must apply to the Deputy House Manager on a form available from the reception desks at Mansion Site and Southwood Site. At present there are 8 bays for 'disabled parking' on the Southwood Site and 10 bays on the Mansion Site. Maritime Greenwich Campus The University is unable to provide student parking facilities, however, there is limited street parking after 10.00am for two hour periods only. University of Greenwich at Medway Campus Parking is permitted along Central Avenue and in the designated areas within white lines between and around the buildings of Upper Pembroke. Parking is confined to the marked parking bays only and vehicles should display appropriate identification. Car passes can be obtained from the Gatehouse. Wheel clamping is in operation for inappropriately parked vehicles. In the event that parking on Upper Pembroke is full, there is usually ample overspill parking on Lower Pembroke around Jellicoe or the Sports Hall. There are bays for disabled parking. Application forms for permits are available in the Campus Registry (Room G004), and these should be submitted to the Site Services Office in the Anson building. At present there are 6 bays for 'disabled parking'. Kings Hill Institute Has plenty of parking available and no marked 'disabled parking' bays. Woolwich There is no parking for students in the University's car parks at Thomas Spencer Hall in Woolwich. Resident students based in Woolwich who think they have a special need should apply to Ruth Bird at Thomas Spencer Hall on 020 8331 8117. | ||||||
